(Saturday, October 19, 2019) – The City of Sunny Isles Beach is introducing Music in the Isles, a live concert featuring multi-Grammy-award winning artist, Jon Secada, on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 7 to 10 p.m. at Gateway Park, 151 Sunny Isles Blvd. In the heart of Miami Music Month, Music in the Isles is celebrating a variety of genres and styles, which encapsulate the spirit of Sunny Isles Beach.
“I am thrilled that an artist of Jon Secada’s caliber is joining us at Music in the Isles,” says Sunny Isles Beach Mayor, George “Bud” Scholl. “Formerly SIB Jazz Fest, Music in the Isles integrates a more diverse lineup of music and song that reflects the multicultural and eclectic composition of our city.”
Opening the concert is Dr. Ed Calle, a Grammy-winning international musician, composer and orchestrator. Calle is one of the most recorded saxophonists in history appearing on more than 1,200 albums and almost 9,000 singles. He appears on Grammy-award-winning albums by Frank Sinatra, Juanes, and Gloria Estefan. Calle has also recorded and performed around the world with music royalty including Carlos Santana, Emilio Estefan, Donna Summer, Smokey Robinson, The Spinners, Lenny Kravitz, and Jennifer Lopez.
Headlining Music in the Isles is international superstar, Jon Secada. With a career spanning over two decades, three Grammy Awards, 20 million albums sold, and starring roles on Broadway, the acclaimed, romantic sounds of Jon Secada, have resulted in numerous hits in English and Spanish, establishing him as one of the first bilingual artists to have international crossover success. Adored by millions around the world, he is recognized by both fans and peers alike for his soulful and melodic voice. Secada has collaborated with music icons such as Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Olivia Newton John.
General admission tickets for the concert are $15 and do not include a seat. Reserved seating tickets are $30.
